Integers and Exponents

large 2^4 : 2 is called the base and 4 is called the power and exponent. Power and exponent indicate the number of times the base is to be multiplied by itself.

Example: Solve: large (-2)^3times (5)^2times (-10)^2

Solution:

large dpi{100} large (-2)^3=(-2)times (-2)times (-2)=(-8);;,;;(5)^2=5times5=25;;and;;(-10)^2=(-10)times (-10)=100

large (-2)^3times (5)^2times (-10)^2=(-8)times 25times 100=(-20000)
